Welcome to HubLocal.co.uk, my name is Baris Tosun, I’m a freelance designer and developer. This is my home page, where you’ll find galleries of my photography, drawings, designs and my blog. Please feel free to look around and leave your comments.
I’m currently working with yura.net (who are a bunch of my friends) and we’ve usually got our hands full with all sorts of projects. If you need someone to do a website, or any kind of creative/computer related work, please fill in the contact form on the contact page. It’s really short and simple, and it makes getting through my emails very easy.
History
I started trading as HubLocal in 2008 Q4 and have been steadily taking on more and more clients since. My regular clients include: The Real Fight Club, Vibrogym UK Ltd. and New-Leaf Fitness among others (you can see some of the work I’ve done for them on this page).
Before HubLocal came Hub Listings Magazine – a bi-weekly music listings magazine venture (I should dig up copies from the archive and upload ‘em). I worked on HubLM with a good friend called Declan, who went back to Uni to pursue a new career. A short flurry of employed came and went before I began running a weekly gig at the Gramaphone under the name HubLocal, which I also used to advertise my design services.

As well as designing stuff, I enjoy running events: especially gigs. Running Les Trois Voix – a weekly acoustic gig at the Gramaphone – was great fun, and I’m proud to say I booked some fantastic artists during my time there. The highlight of this night was a secret Christmas gig in which Seasick Steve performed to an invite-only crowd of less than 100. The atmosphere in the homely cavern of the Gramaphone was out of this world.
Other artists of note include:
- Ivor Novello Award Winner, Catherine Howe in one of her first (if not THE first) public performances with guitarist Vo Fletcher.
- China Soul – Daughter of Starsky and Hutch actor, David Soul.
- Wishful Thinking – AKA Paul Martin Wold, whose regular Les Trois Voix performances shaped the material for his debut album ‘A Waste Of Time Well Spent’.
Like I said, I really enjoy putting on live music, but these days I prefer to bide my time and pick the right artists for the right gigs, and advertise to the right people for the show (if you want to be added to the HubLocal music mailing list for special event notices, go to the contact page.
